Member Quotes
Oil's energy contribution has declined by about 12% since 1999. The world's economies have also declined by about 12%. (Using conventional metrics, which are time delayed determinations, this will only be seen in hind sight). The massive destruction of asset values now occurring testifies to it happening. Peak is well behind us, world economies have peaked and will continue to decline.

What's the point of proclaiming next day's doomsday everyday?

This Thursday? Next Thursday? Thanksgiving?

Sheesh, even Bishop Usher provided a date AND and a time.

You have to be more clear on your definition of collapse, we are collapsing right now and have been on a collapse trajectory since 2006, it does not just happen overnight. Remember the foundation of the world economy is somwhere north of $45 trillion dollars moving around the globe every single day.... that's you going to get your dollar meal chicken sandwich at McDonalds and your boyfriend buying a lottery ticket and the senior VP at ExxonMobil paying cash for an estate in the Hamptons.... On Friday you will still be doing that stuff as will your boyfriend and the senior VP at EM... if the stock market is trading at 9000 and we have "lost" 1500+ points in a week it isn't going to halt the economy. The amount of money that is being "lost" right now is $2trillion and that is roughly the amount that was loaned out during the last two years of the unregulated mortgage orgy where dead people were qualifying for loans.... sooooo take $2trillion away from $45trillion and you get $43trillion still flowing around the world.... try and make sure you are in a job that is needed in the next few years and you will be just fine.

There are two Friday 19ths in 2070 - September and December. Which one are you referring to?

If you're rich, does it really matter when the economy will collapse?

The poor will be hurt more than the rich because the poor depend on the govt.

BR
Don't think you see the grand plan there. Just perhaps, our economy is actually better than those other countries. You know, those things that make a market work, rule of law (eclude China and Russia) for one.

Probably the same thing that happened to oil, people are moving their money from risky positions to commodities.

Remember with every loss there is a gain somewhere.... but not always in the stock market.
