Light Sweet Crude Oil

Member Quotes
Oil's energy contribution has declined by about 12% since 1999. The world's economies have also declined by about 12%. (Using conventional metrics, which are time delayed determinations, this will only be seen in hind sight). The massive destruction of asset values now occurring testifies to it happening. Peak is well behind us, world economies have peaked and will continue to decline.

I got a new job and there's interest in my house which is on the market. My wife left me too, which is actually good news because for three and a half years I've heard "Are you starting that sh*t again?" every time I've mentioned peak oil and its ramifications. I hope I can rescue my daughter from that maniacal concucopian before it's too late!

What do you say to someone who wouldn't agree to sell the house in 2005 or 6 when you were telling them the housing market only has a year or two to go and then prices are going to crash, we need to get out of here?

I said "Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out".

Hank and Ben's bailout plan will probably avert the global catastrophe we've been fearing. We can continue to sit in front of our flat-panels watching inane crap just like we always have.

My kids are great. Their friends are, too. It gives me hope.

My best high school buddy was in town a couple weeks ago, so we got together and had a blast. I hadn't seen her for eight years, though we have kept in touch on and off over the past 30 years. Now, we're calling each other like school kids again! She has remarried and hubby #2 is one sweet guy. That is really good news.

We may soon have one or two new canine friends. A rescued dog from up north turned out to be expecting puppies, so we're anticipating adopting a puppy and maybe the mother dog as well. Mom is a German Shepherd but we're not sure what the father (or fathers) was/were. Got to get ready for this!

Very happy for you, Joewp. If you don't mind me asking, what is your area of employment? And congrats about the breakup, too. I always found it funny many years past, when people would give me their condolences about a particular break up. It was a bit like offering sympathy to someone who'd been sprung from prison, after a long incarceration. Have yourself a party. You deserve it!

The town I live in seems to be winning its battle with preventing a Walmart to move in. They are making them jump through hoops and they may quite the whole project.

I have found more boxes turtles this year alive in the woods than dead on the roads. They are still probably going to go extinct in my lifetime, but seeing them is good.

I found two pieces of property near me that I m going to talk to the owners and make a bid on.

Well I have good news for everyone. Despite all the Sh-tstorm we have been swimming in, we have many State and National Parks to recharge.

I went backpacking at Dinosaur Valley State Park last Tuesday. Very restfull.
