Very sorry for your loss, Indigo.

The most significant people in our lives help to shape who we are, who we become. We cannot separate ourselves from them, even though our relationships may change.

A dear friend of mine lost her ex-husband several years ago. He was 51, she 10 years his junior, and she was remarried by this time. He died from the effects of alcoholism. She and their grown sons stayed at his bedside in the ICU during his last days. My friend felt only love for him as he slipped away, even though they were estranged and much pain had passed between them over the years.

If we have loved someone, the love remains.

All you can do right now is stand strong & hang tough, because you probably wont get a moment to grieve until the day after the funeral. I learned this first hand when my dad passed away.

So sad. Sorry to hear about losing your best friend and the father to your boys. It is my worst fear that I could lose my wife and kids. All the best.
