Oil's energy contribution has declined by about 12% since 1999. The world's economies have also declined by about 12%. (Using conventional metrics, which are time delayed determinations, this will only be seen in hind sight). The massive destruction of asset values now occurring testifies to it happening.
Peak is well behind us, world economies have peaked and will continue to decline.

Mos, do you have the legal and medical qualifications to diagnose as a psychiatrist? I don't think you do. This is then, only your *opinion*. For what it's worth.

Mos is probably not qualified but my wife is a board certified psychiatrist and she says "Golem is in need of psychiatric/psychological help. The guy need therapy, however it is likely that his pathology will specifically prevent him from seeking the help he needs... unless forced to do so by the authorities."
As to what may and may not be said on this website you must remember or be reminded that this is not a public street but a privately owned forum dedicated to the discussion of Peak Oil; it’s meaning to and impact on society and with content geared toward mitigation. There are sections of the forum set aside for discussion of unrelated topics, however when one poster disrupts and dominates the forum with completely unrelated and really irrelevant posts then action will and has been taken. _________________ "Modern Agriculture is the use of land to convert petroleum into food."

"slayed your dragon"? Hardly. He may be back, sometime. He came back as Golem..meanwhile, he exists as Raphael on other forums.
I guess we'll visit him there.
You've got some "spooky power mojo going on"? Most of the folks that do the hexing that I am acquainted with don't advertise it. Carl, I am ashamed of you..sorry to say. There are no "victories" here. For anyone.

Others had been implying that I was responsible for golem's departure.
The mods already told everybody early in the thread that I had nothing to do with golem's absence. This is the second time he's been banned.
The whole ridiculous premise of my being dubbed a "Knight of the Realm" is this: If I'm going to be held responsible for defeating The Golem, then I want a goddam medal for it! Jeezus. You must have absolutely NO sense of humor.
Sounds like I'm still being held in contempt. Sooo... I can hardly wait for MD to bestow the "Twinkle of Merit" on my flair. And I hope the community thanks me for my bravery in battle! _________________ "May you live in interesting times"

I guess you've never been banned from a forum? It can be pretty traumatic. _________________ Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it.

Carl, when I first started reading this thread I thought an appropriate title for you would be "Three Hole Punch" as a carlhole is either a type of paper punch or a generic name for same and your posts generally deliver a strong punch. _________________ "Modern Agriculture is the use of land to convert petroleum into food."

Thanks.
"Carlhole" was a college nickname.
My roommates had suspected that I was the primary reason why delicacies in the refrigerator kept disappearing. "The Carlhole" was that mysterious vortex that dematerialized food stores - even though everyone KNEW I couldn't possibly have eaten most of the things I was accused of stealing.
And then one day, I really DID eat something that I thought was mine but really wasn't. And when he found out, the offended true owner started to say: "You ***hole!". But thought better of it (cause I was a pretty big guy who LIKES a little conflict now and then). So the curse just stumbled out as: "You... Carl... hole".
And then someone's girlfriend started calling me "Carlhole" and then that girl turned into MY girlfriend... and I REALLY couldn't shake the name after that.
Later, I met a girl who I lived with for 8 years. She found out about the "Carlhole" name when one of my old friends called me one day. She called me "Carlhole" for the rest of the time I knew her -- affectionately but also in times of mild disgust.
I actually had to insist that she never to call me "Carlhole" among other people because it just caught on like crazy and no one would call me by my real name anymore!
But I like to use it now because I am kind of an argumentative bastard and I might as well hand over a ready-made curse to all future opponents. _________________ "May you live in interesting times"

They are one and the same. Jeez some people have to have everything explained to them.
Thanks for the clarification, Paddy. We minions in the trenches are never told anything, except go here, go there, suck his brains out, ... _________________ "Modern Agriculture is the use of land to convert petroleum into food."
