Got some PDO at 3.65... pretty good gains now. Might be rebounding soon on the oil front.
Like a day trader from the brutal bear market of 2001-2002 told me... get something cheap and hold on for your life, but the rewards are then great.
Maybe the market might tank a while but human psychology has a casino mentality.. and if it ain't for stocks or gambling where else make a killing doing little?
That later hope alone even though the majority is screwed is what defines part of our species.
Like Casinos the Stock Market is here to stay. Heck in the 18th and 19th century there were worst swings amid a completely unregulated market where insider trading wasn't even illegal.
Now I don't think cavemen were peddling in auction rate securities but if we go back to caves we might as well keep that fine little invention there |

| With a 20% rally today, RIG is still selling at a PE of less than 6. |

XES covers the whole oil service sector with equal weightings, rather than market cap weightings. I like it.
FSTEX is a nice non-majors oil producers mutual fund.
FSESX is a great oil services fund with a LONG track record. _________________

Sounds like my people.
I have been playing with RIG, DO, NE, ESV, HP, SII, NOV, CLB, and CAM for awhile now. Sold them off in late June and early July and started buying back in too early as of 9 29.
Many of these had PEs around 5. Last week, especially early Friday morning was the best time to buy (but I stopped on Monday). Am looking to put more in on the retest-of-bottom dip later this month at Triple Witching and then the post Christmas season sales slump disappointment slump.

To play trends DXD or SDS. My other favorites have already been mentioned above.
SQM and MOS for farming needs which will simply not go away. _________________ Men argue, nature acts !

FRO for the win. Can't beat the nearly 40% dividend. I bought it back at around 29. Its up to 37 now, still a good buy. _________________ The oil barrel is half-full. |

My little Chinese ADR rose nearly 70% today on the rally. I already owned it so I was able to average down tremendously. Hope it stays down in the basement a little longer so I can load up on more. My basis is way lower than it was before the crash.

And if you had picked up dvn at the low last week you would be up 38% right now....and the winter NG heating season is just ahead.
God bless the sheeple and the averaging down method. |

Eslr is down to around $3.50. I just may buy a bit more. If it hits $3 I can't resist. They have to go up with their new factory in Devens. _________________ Deep in the mud and slime of things, even there, something sings. |
