Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

Oh. Ok well that's that then. Kill the little bugger.
Yep. We're putting it off for the time being though because we don't have the proper tools or time to deal with it right now. My husband wants to donate the carcass to an animal rescue facility, but has not had time to research this. I think this is more trouble than it's worth, personally, but he seems to feel strongly about it so I'm leaving it up to him. He would be doing the actual killing anyway, or finding someone to do it for him, as I am not the gun-handler in the family.
It's morbid I suppose, but I would like to keep Harold's skull because he has such beautiful horns.
Excuse me for giggling about this but isn't an animal rescue facility used for saving animals? I know...I know... he wants to donate the meat as dog and cat food but when I first read it.....
Nothing morbid about any of this Ludi. Cut the head off of him and bury it for a while or set it on an ant hill or whatever. If you suggested doing this to a human, well, now that would be morbid.

Nothing morbid about it at all. Do realize it's probably going to have a bullet hole in it. Skin it and clean off as much meat as you easily can and then bury it. I suggest putting some boards or rocks on top of the hole so you don't lose it and also to dissuade dogs, coyotes, and whatever else might be tempted to try and dig it up. I did that with a buffalo two years ago and it came out very nicely. Took about a year. One thing that surprised me, I figured it would be worms doing most of the work, but it actually ended up being ants. THe other option is to put the skull in a big pot of water and boil it and scrape all the meat off. I think boiling probably gives a whiter finished product. The one I buried ended up kinda yellow and a bit splotchy in places. Doesn't bother me, but some folks want pure white. _________________ "So while you sit and whistle Dixie with your money and your power.

If the Ram has big horns, once a little decomp has occured the horns will slide right off the bone. Even without the horns the skull will still be ornamental. After the ants have defleshed the bone use bleach to whiten it. And the horns? Make a shofar!. Dried out and scraped, then with a hole drilled into the pointy end you are halfway to a sheephorn trumpet. Boil up some h2o and boil the mouthpiece end you've drilled and use a hot tapered punch to spread out the hole to make the mouthpiece. The horn will deform and allow itself to be moulded and shaped with the moist heat.
If you don't want to eat the meat by all means send it to a shelter, but don't waste the hide! At leat salt it and stretch it on a hoop, then dry it, you can use it as a rug or send it out for tanning. Bella

I have run large numbers of sheep for years, in my opinion get rid of the ram. In my younger days I tried beating, buckets of cold and hot water in the face ect. behavior will not change. Take him to auction barn and state he is mean or sell as slaughter only. If you do bucher him, after shooting slit his throat deep until you get large blood flow. If you don't bleed him the meat will be bloody. In my experience black face rams ( suffolk and Hampshire) are the worst at getting mean. Buy a white face ram, way better dispositions. Good luck.

Yeah, can anybody else corroborate this?
Seems completely at odds with basic cardio theory.
Muscle is typically not engorged with blood.
In fact, back in the day, bulldogs were used to latch onto bulls to get them to struggle and fight until their muscles were gorged with blood from the fight, which had the effect of making the meat jucier - or so it was claimed.
Admittedly, I've never butchered an animal. _________________ Massive Human Dieoff must occur as a result of Peak Oil. Many more than half will die. It will occur everywhere, including where you live. If you fail to recognize this, then your odds of living move toward the "going to die" group.

We have a ram who was a made a pet as a baby by the breeder. In consequence, he likes to ram people. He has hurt both of us rather badly (not enough to have to go to the doc - yet). He's also been very destructive, smashing up the sheep barn. We're torn about what to do with him. My husband is definite about wanting to get rid of him. We are hesitant to sell him because we don't want to endanger another family. So we're leaning toward doing away with him, I think. I understand the best way is to shoot them in the forehead with a .22. Is this correct?
Anyway, I would like any advice anyone can give about what would be the best course. Should we sell him? Should we kill him? Best method of killing?
I used 00 buckshot to the head of my buck goat, Billybuck. I hated to do it because he had been such a cute pet until he got too big to control. But he was half-boer, so his meat was tasty.
I still have Billybuck's sister, Sevdi, as a pet. I can still boss her around if I have to. And she's intimidated by "the stick," which I pick up whenever I need to draw attention to my authority as Lord and Master. She gets the point. When she's good, she gets a treat of "Ritz" crackers. When she's bad, the stick. She's only butted me once hard enough to hurt. Most of the time, when she rears up on her hind legs as if to threaten a butting, she's just playing.
