I think this is the beginnings of an economy based on perpetual growth and fossil fuel energy running headlong into geological energy constraints. Basically I see an undulatory downward path for the rest of my life. From here out, I think any rallies in our economic condition are going to be met with spiking commodity prices that knock us right back down.

Honestly, unequivocally, 100% No. I have never said anything of the sort. I have mentioned the existence of Peak Oil to some friends and family, I've given them the web addresses of places to find out more. That's where I've left it. This is too important an issue to go in guns blazing and start shouting at people telling them they're idiots for not knowing what you know. I've also made sure that I can support all of my friends and family in my future plans. If TSHTF they can always come to me for help... they don't need some schmuck saying "I told you so".
Besides, how would I know what's "wrong" with living one way or another? No-one knows what the future will bring. For all I know, self sufficiency might be completely the wrong way to go. _________________ We've tried nothin' and we're all out of ideas.

The pope can't do anything about peak oil, so i don't get the reason of this thread.
He could start by telling his sheeple to quit using all that oil required to drive to church every Sunday 52 weeks a year but he has to watch his step because some might start asking why he sits on a throne made of real gold or has multi-hundred million dollar real estate holdings instead of using the money to feed & aid the poor if he did that.

By using contraception, you are reducing sex to a simple beastial pleasure. You are simply 'using' the woman as an object in order to satisfy your desires. This is wrong, and an affront to the dignity of a woman.
Somehow it is very appropriate that your missive assumes the perspective of a man and completely ignores the desires and feelings of the woman.
For myself (and many others I am sure), it is not the media that stokes anti-Catholic sentiment, it is the words and actions of the Church and its disciples like yourself.

Show me a woman who treats sex as a simple pleasure and has no guilt/bad feelings after a one night stand, and ill show you a liar. Many men, on the other hand, treat sex in this way all the time without a second thought.

It would be really interesting if one of these apologists like the one you listed could remove the word apologist from their own title by removing the word alleged from the title of their alleged god!
Since that ain’t happening, they are stuck trying to look smart trying to pass off their own form of everything "alleged" like it was real and only fooling those whose standards are low enough to buy that type of banter. For instance, this guy says “Of course not -- they are products of Ingersoll's imagination, a way of him explaining away things that actually happened …” like he is not doing the exact same thing with his apologizing! How quaint, he gets to make up all the answers but others do not like every other Jew, Christian, & Muslim thinks they get do when apologizing for that tale.

unmm that church has over 1 billion people. I have many friends who are Catholic and not sex offenders. Many Catholic friends who are not into porn. Many hard working people I know are Catholic....When you have 1 billion people there will be some screw ups....
