Like the illusion of Wall Street, with its vast and powerful investment banks, now shuttered, China too is an illusion perpetuated by the Globalists that gave us the 15,000 mile Caesar salad, poisoned cat food and lead based paint on babies' pacifiers. Like the illusion that money would come from thin air to always push housing prices higher, China has spent a generation pursuing its illusion. Pursuing an unattainable dream to be like the West, while 6000 years of its carefully shepherded top soil blows into the sea.

Washington, DC, October 3, 2005 – Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman and Alliance to Save Energy President Kateri Callahan, in a joint news conference today, urged consumers to use energy more efficiently to reduce demand and soaring energy prices. DOE and the Alliance are continuing to collaborate on the Powerful $avings campaign, which empowers consumers to easily reduce their energy bills.

As part of the ongoing campaign, DOE and the Alliance debuted three new radio public service announcements (PSAs) recorded by Bodman, as well as new print PSAs for the Ad Council’s Energy Hog campaign, now housed at the Alliance.

“The Powerful $avings campaign is aimed at helping consumers reduce their energy bills at home and on the road and helping the nation reduce its overall energy use through energy efficiency,” said Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman. “DOE is pleased to continue to bring this important money – and energy-saving message to consumers through its partnership with the Alliance to Save Energy.”

Still no admission of depletion. Its as if the energy prices were low before the Hurricanes. Bodman made a statement today that eludes that this is a temporary energy crisis. Bodman is another political crony with no experience with energy issues.

Six more months of gasoline pain?

Hey all six more months and its home free!

This reminds me of that country song "If We Make It through December"
Quote:
If we make it through December
Everything's gonna be all right I know
It's the coldest time of winter
And I shiver when I see the falling snow
If we make it through December
Got plans to be in a warmer town
Come summer time
Maybe even California
If we make it through December
We'll be fine

Got laid off down at the factory
And their timing's not the greatest
In the world
Heaven knows I've been working hard
Wanted Christmas to be right
For daddy's girl
I don't mean to hate December
It's meant to be this happy time of year
And my little girl don't understand
Why daddy can't afford no Christmas here

If we make it through December
Everything's gonna be all right I know
It's the coldest time of winter
And I shiver when I see the falling snow
If we make it through December
Got plans to be in a warmer town
Come summer time
Maybe even California
If we make it through December
We'll be fine...

"We're going to go through a very challenging time the next six months, is my guess," Bodman told USA Today in an interview published Monday.

Too bad he didn't guess only three months, then we'd be over this faster.

Suppose he's counting on a big die-off in six months leading to demand destruction that makes it all happy and good again?

BP,

This weekend we tuned up our bikes and I finished a woodstove installation. Hunkering down! Shocked

I insulated a friend's hot water heater for him the other day. He has natural gas for hot water and home heat.

Two weeks from today, my fireplace will be replaced by a woodstove. I've got three cords of alternative NG cut and stacked.

The solar collectors are tuned and ready, too.

In the cities of eastern Siberia, people pitched tents inside their apartments when the utilities failed in the late 1990s. The whole family, maybe even the neighbors from next door, would sleep together in the tent for warmth. It worked. The main problem is that in an unheated building the pipes froze, so no indoor water either. Also no electricity for elevators. This in a country that was still maintaining the MIR space station for national prestige.

The future of Minneapolis?
