NYMEX Crude Oil (Light) ........................121.20 5.64 NYMEX NYH RBOB Gasoline (Globex) ...... 3.0421 .1318

Don’t worry, just a little bump - $70 is just around the corner. Short traders just keep making those margin calls, mortgage the house if you have to. Fortunes await you! PO is for pansies and doomers. At $70 short some more ..... it is going back to $22 .... the world is awash with oil ........ reality has nothing to do with it, its all in those charts!!!!!!!!!!

while covering gas prices, and, I think, a sudden futile craze for hybrid cars, the reporter admitted: "The history of cheap oil may be over", but nothing about peak or depletion, the media here still chalks it all up to terrorism jitters, China, and such.

Was this on a national feed, or a local news network? This is an honest question, as I work from 1700-0130, so I do not see the ABC Nightly News, or any other prime time TV.

It's interesting to me that the media is presently emphasizing the caveat, "Oil prices are not at record levels when one considers inflation." While this is certainly accurate, it seems odd that it's being repeated over and over. It's worse than OJ and the Blazer. They are saying "Don't panic. Remain calm. This is just a hiccup. Go about your normal life."

In fact, everyone at work is saying the same thing. No one wants to hear about Peak. They get angry if I even bring up the subject .

Odds are, the present spike in oil prices does have more to do with growing demand than peak production. ABC might simply be reporting the facts and either be obscuring or unaware of the long term supply picture.

And yes, they seemed to know something they wouldn't say. Although the surge may be due more to surge in demand than peak, this is compounded by the fact that for a few years we have been probably on the almost plateau near the top. We could have big problems even right at or just before peak-which I think will be in '07 or '08.
