NYMEX Crude Oil (Light) ........................121.20 5.64 NYMEX NYH RBOB Gasoline (Globex) ...... 3.0421 .1318

Don’t worry, just a little bump - $70 is just around the corner. Short traders just keep making those margin calls, mortgage the house if you have to. Fortunes await you! PO is for pansies and doomers. At $70 short some more ..... it is going back to $22 .... the world is awash with oil ........ reality has nothing to do with it, its all in those charts!!!!!!!!!!

Well no , not the far east , not even the middle east , just our old chums in Russia again.

Certainly they seem to grabbing little headlines on the energy front every other day.

First up ..... remember how Gazprom wanted to buy UK gas company Centrica ? Well , theyve decided to start smaller and buy a little known UK Gas company. From little acorns ......

BBC Gazprom Story

Seems also that now oil is so expensive , together with the gas that Russia is awash with cash. Those dollars eh , flying round like confetti, to the point that Russia is paying of a multibillion dollar debt from the bad old days. The cheap Saudi oil may have ruined the Russians back in the day , but now everyones paying the price.

BBC Russia to pay off debts.

I think you are right to bring this up. I believe the biggest threat to the world lies with an enraged Russia should it be stymied by the US again like it was by low oil prices brought on by Saudi overproduction. I believe that the Russians view this as their time. If they are robbed of it they will not go quietly.

I look for them to continue to frustrate the US via their proxy, Iran. In some ways this is right up the right wing's alley. Bush and co will probably think it is a gift. Bush and co haven't, however, got a clue as to statesmanship. They only play to the domestic crowd. They will suffer the most when that same domestic crowd can't take it any longer. That is assuming there is still a crowd left to get fed up.
