Community Survival Plans?

Hey, everybody, I just learned about PO about a week ago, and after browsing these forums I decided to sign up. I've read through a bunch of topics concerning individual or family survival plans. However, I was wondering if anyone has given thought to getting together with others to actually form a community of say anywhere to a few hundred people. I just figured if a group got together farmland could be better managed, and we could have people handling different tasks. It would also make defence much easier as one person with a rifle won't be able to do much to a roving band of desperate marauders, but a dozen peope with rifles would. So, has anyone given thought to this?
