I'm not sure if you guys can help me but I've been set the task of finding out what DNC oil is. It may related to eitehr Diesel or heavy oil, but I'm really struggling.
DOes anyone have a clue what it is, or can point me in the right direction.
Many thanks |

Declared net capacity and capability are used to measure the maximum power available from generating stations at a point in time.
Seems to have more to do with electrical generation than oil...but i suppose it could be applied...try doing a google on DNC DIESEL OIL and see if ya get any more...may want to try MW (mega watts) in with those search words or all you'll get is the democratic national comitee |

Thinking about this some more...DNC - Declared net capacity (or the power available at any given moment), HMMMMMMMM...
I know 1 gallon of gas can push a 3 ton SUV for 15 miles...but that's not "at one moment"...
So i think the question you're looking for is how much power can you get from oil at a single moment.
I don't know what scale that would be measured on...mega-watts? Foot pounds of torque? Heat (BTU's)?
I think i'd need more of a question to help you farther with an answer.
Good luck! |

Apparently this is the answer
DNC oil is an animal based oil used in big boats like transportation boats and cruise ships. It's known has one of the best oil for huge applications like this. It is also known that eskimos made a derivation of that oil to heat themselves during winter...
I would never have guessed that ! |

Apparently the definition I put up earlier is totally wrong ! Some clever so and so decided to have some fun with me !
From what I understand a company is supposed to be using Diesel fuel for it's power supply (a manufacturing plant), but has been using something billed as DNC oil instead. If this is just a form of Diesel then all is OK, if it is a heavy oil, and I guess therefore more polluting, then they may fall foul of the environmental regulator and face severe penalties.
It sounds as if RonMn was on the right track. Possibly the DNC could be similar to the Octane rating of Petrol ?
ANy help would be great |

It's oil made from Democrats. The higher grade is made from members of the Democratic National Committee.
