If "it's bunker time" why the fark do you care about the price of gold? You evolved some enzyme that lets you digest the stuff?

The Guardian: Energy firms to raise bills yet again

The Guardian wrote:
At the Energy Markets Outlook seminar hosted by Ofgem and the Department of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (Berr), executive vice president Thor Otto Lohne of Norwegian pipeline company Gassco said that long-term contracts to supply mainland Europe meant the UK could not always rely on Norwegian gas exports, regardless of the price we were prepared to pay. 'The UK is a secondary priority. Like it or not, that is a fact,' he said.

If anybody has it coming, it's England.

Maybe the Japanese are close, but if you took a worldwide poll as to who most deserves to get it up the ass for past transgressions, you'd have to think the English would be at the front of the line.

By the way Twighlight, confirm for me a suspicion I've had for some time.

Scotts say they're from Scotland.

Welsh say they're from Wales.

Only the English say they're from "the UK" or "Great Britain".

So are you English?

You know the English did contribute in fighting Hitler, was and is an incubator for many advances, medical, scientific etc, literature, culture, has a strong democracy, etc. They are in fact relatively better than most of the world's nations in fighting for human rights.

It's probably more jealousy than anything that such greatness could come out of such a small area of land and people.

Who is your tribe cashmere? I have my suspicions.

Yes the 'English' (or at least their ruling representatives) have been guilty of many historical transgressions against other nations. But compared to the US' present willingness to destroy the biosphere in pursuit of profits, we're talking about minor felonies.

By the way, given the serpentine interlocking strands of globalisation, I think it very unwise to wish for another trading partner's economic collapse. You never can tell just exactly where, and when, it's likely to come back and haunt you.

Every nation is guilty of pollution, many nations, including China, India, etc don't really care what hippy liberals think.

In fact, aren't cattle the biggest polluters in the world? More so than the entire world's transportation sector? Since Hindus worship these cattle/mass polluters does that mean the Hindus are the world's guiltiest for worshipping such polluters?

Remember, the number one way to stop global warming is to stop all sheep, goats, cattle from farting.

To be correct, the problem is their burping (or belching). It is a by-product of their very efficient digesting system, with microbes in their rumen (first stomach) breaking down celloluse, which few other animals can do.

Of course wild ruminants: elks, moose, deer do the same. They are only fewer.

How things change! Just last year, the environmentally better choice was to eat ruminants because they do not compete with humans for the same easily digested food, which poultry and pigs do. Now we should turn to pork and chicken for meat, to avoid global warming. Of course, cutting down on meat is even better.

Rice fields also produce methane, so if you do not grow your own rice, a better choice is other grains or potato.

I would like to know also how much methane the natural gas industry leaks, in production and all the steps to consumption, which of is more to the topic here.

If the "English" worked to fight for human rights and freedom in the past, it is long gone..

Since 1996, most guns are banned, the UN now say the UK have one of the worst crime rate of Europe and the olympic shooters must train abroad.

CCTV are everywhere, me london individual pass in front of 300 cameras in a day and yo can no longer even make peaceful manifestations or protest around the parliament . Meanwhile, more retarded laws are voted each day and you are likely to get shot by a increasingly armed police (and each year, a couple are shot by their fellow police officers).

To make matter worst, the UK now export some of his worst ideas by citizens leaving to commonwealth countries (like Canada) and doesn't even understand that the policies they are pushing in their new country are thoses who make hell on Earth at home (like the Toronto Mayer,Miller)..

Let's fire-up the old chevy trucks and the BBQ to make sure this island forsaken by God himself go under water as quickly as possible!

Otherwise, in 2050 most folks from the UK will be able to shoot ak47 in the middle of london while screaming "allah ackbar" (typo??)..

Of course, i'm saying this with a bit of tongue-in-cheek .. There is still a couple of peoples around there who doesn't deserve to freeze to death

Gee, the Brits just figured out that suppliers will honor long term contracts instead of abandoning them the second the spot price happens to be above the contracted price. Very Happy

Did the Brits even for a second consider why everyone except them always relied on long term contracts? Laughing

This is what you get for being obsessed with trading everything on spot markets just to make sure the City gets a slice out of everything. The chickens are coming home to roost.
