Meanwhile, keep watching for shortage reports, because we should start seeing some sneak in this week, if our doom-o-meter is calibrated correctly.

In 1959, the Golden Gate hotel in downtown Las Vegas began offering a shrimp cocktail for a paltry fifty cents. That was a tremendous bargain. Fifteen years ago, they raised its price to a buck and it was still a tremendous bargain...a loss leader, of course.

This is why Vegas visitors around the world are being shocked to hear that the cheapo shrimp cocktail at the Golden Gate has just doubled its price.

That's right. It's now $1.99. You want proof the economy is in trouble? Look no further.

Maybe this will spur more useage of the two dollar bill. The only place I see these exchanged is if you go to Monticello they give them out as change at the gift shop.

Sad day for all those people throwing away their money in casinos. They better not complain about high gas prices if they are willing to gamble with hundreds or thousands of dollars in one week.

When we get to the point where Slots-a-fun starts charging more than 99 cents for their famous half pound hot dogs, I am ready to call it a full blown food crisis.

Better than contact lens solution going from $2 to $4 a bottle in 3 months. At least that's covered by FSA accounts.
