I think I speak for many newbies when I say it would be great if there were a glossary (maybe there already is one?) of all the Abbrviations and acronyms that get bandied about on PO. I have been able to decipher or track down most, but a simple reference list would help a ton.
Can someone point me in the right direction? |

| The urbandictionary.com has most every abbreviation, acronym and bit of slang used today. |

Great idea. When I first arrived on this board, it was difficult to follow many of the discussions because of my ignorance about the abbreviations.
EROEI: energy return on energy invested. A measure of how much energy is required in order to produce an energy source. The bigger the number, the better. Small EROEI numbers, perhaps below 2, may be a waste of time. Numbers less than 1 certainly are. They mean that you have to put more energy in than you get out, which is a loss or a sink. |
