I will believe the Saudis don't see any upcoming problems with Ghawar when they cancel one of their projects due to low oil prices. If they continue to be full steam ahead with increasing their capacity then I think they are aware that Ghawar may not be as robust in 5 years time as they would like us to believe.

Hmm,okay..

We got a huge problem here : population..maybe we will have a die off..maybe not..but in BOTH case,we need something ,isnt !?

If we can't use condoms nor birth control pills womens(typo? i'm french canadian after all) normally use..what will we use !?

I mean,if a die off occur and some of us are "traped" somewhere in a underground house or anything with a women and nothing to do (well, reading, checks,a bit of gardening..eeeh ??)with a box of condoms..guesss what will happen ? NO MORE CONDOMS AFTER A MONTH Shocked ...

Of course, here i speak mostly about men..after,most people here are..men Shocked ! He he (sorry girls!)..Well sure, think about the girl side : traped inside a tiny underground house with a men who have nothing else in his punny little head than farking ,if we think about your side, could be something..don't know, EH..i'm a men after all (again, sorry girls !)...

So, BACK TO THE SUBJECT : How to do birth control under a collapsing civilisation Crying or Very sad !

Anybody have a idea about dealing with this !? Don't know for you,but for me,having to deal day long with a pack of childrens (7 to 12,like my grand-mother ??) is not what i call a nice life...

Herbal ?..i've ear about a tree in India, called "Neem" (can't really grow in the north, but maybe having some indoor could be enough !??)..The defence agency of India have done tests on birth control with 20 soldiers with stable womens ..3 gelatines pills by day with drops of extract of neem oil in each used while one year : 0 pregnancy Shock

The first pill for men Wink !

Now,your turn..
AND I DON'T WANT TO READ SOMEONE SAYING : BOIL YOUR BALLS WITH HOT WATER (Jesus Christ..i really have see it on a website earlier today..) Twisted Evil !

You don't have to, when civilisations collapse the amount of people in it will collapse as well

Exactly. The die-off is going to kill off the majority of the human race. A little population growth from the survivors isn't going to hurt anything. Also, with technology as we know it gone, life expectancies will probably go down, too. At any rate, it'd be a LONG time before we got any serious population growth again. Horrible that we're gonna solve that problem this way. Sad

Relatively quick and painless permanent solutions are available now:

If you're a fertile man, get a vasectomy.

If you're a fertile woman, get Essure.

Schneider, the info is available in French too: http://www.essure.ca/french/

Ever heard about abortion? It's not an invention of modern man. Nor is the condom, I believe. Besides, all you soon-to-be farmers will likely want to have many children: as farm labourers and suppliers of your pension. Just like it has been before the industrial age.

there are a few little publiscised techniques of natural family planning (or NFP if you want to google it). These are basically advanced forms of the old rythm method and if practised correctly are as effective as the more common forms of birth control.

I discovered it because I basically ran out of option. I hate condoms and both me and my girlfriend are not keen on messing with her natural cycles with hormonal methods.

It's a method often treated with skepticism due it's lack of publicity but the reason no one spends money to advertise it's existence is simple.... there's no money to be made from it. All you need is the instruction and with one of the methods a basal thermometer (which can be had for around $20).

two main techniques (which are usually combined as a crosscheck for reliability) are the basal temperature method, basically taking the basal temp every morning until a characteristic temp change indicates ovulation has occured, 3 days after which unprotected sex carries no risk of pregnancy. the other is called 'billings' which involves tracking changes in vaginal mucous secretions... not to hard as most women are pretty aware of them anyway.

It takes a couple of months to get the hang of it (use condoms till you're confident if you like) but once you do you can typically get 18-20 safe days out of every 28 day cycle. during those other days you can either just use a rubber or find other ways to get it on...

oh and a little bonus... when you do decide to have kids you'll be well equipt to know exactly when it's time to get busy in budoir...

Another little known technique. Ladies, if you take some of your fluid and rub it between your fingers and thumb, and then pull your fingers and thumb apart and the fluid streches into a thin and shimmering string between your thumb and forefinger w/o breaking, your probably ovulating. The fluid should be a whitish color and very smooth.

If you pull your thumb and finger apart and there is no string of fluid between them, or the consistancy is more like that of paste, or it feels 'thick', your probably safe.

Natural birth control!

That is one part of the billings technique though I'd be a little wary of that advice. Yes you are ovulating when the mucous is of that consistency and yes it's true you can't get pregnant when you are not ovulating however sperm can live quite happily for up to five days and those signs will not be apparent 5 days before ovulation (more like 1 or 2 at the most).

You can only be sure after the fact. Generally it is safe up the day the period finishes (in some cases a few days after but get proper training before making that assumption).

If your cycle is well and truly regular like clockwork then you have a little bit more room to move safely.

I'd strongly recomend learning the correct technique from a verifiable source. when you know what you are doing it's very safe. It's very cheap and doesn't take much time at all. If you stake your fertility/infertility on backyard advice like the above you may just find yourself prodigiously spawning when you least want to.

Since this is a PG-rated forum, I'll use the technical terms for these things: fellatio and cunnilingus, sequentially or simultaneously. Much use can also be made of the hands, with a partner or even (yes, really!) solo.

C'mon, guys, there are more ways to be intimate than P-V intercourse, you just have to use your imagination!

And don't be so squeamish about abstinence. It's not that bad, really, and in any case all the grownups run around advocating it for teenagers, so unless they're complete hypocrites they should at least be willing to try it for themselves!

Think of nonsexual intimacy. There are plenty of ways to be close, and nonsexually but physically intimate, without risking a pregnancy or disease.

Re. abortion: not an option for some; conscientious objection on the grounds that their faith considers it murder. Agree or disagree, one has to respect that.

I hope that everyone is taking into consideration that when new people are all put together you aren't sure about anyone's medical conditions. They could easily have a STD which could cause you alot of pain or death in the long run. At this point in the game, we are not going to have readily available medications. 5brokenheart

The sort of thing Schneider is talking about is only in the movies. When an action movie shows the dancile in destress being rescued and then 3 of her friends show up.

That is why it is up to the women to show restraint and control the men. Behind every strong man is a strong woman. 5footballhelmet
