I will believe the Saudis don't see any upcoming problems with Ghawar when they cancel one of their projects due to low oil prices. If they continue to be full steam ahead with increasing their capacity then I think they are aware that Ghawar may not be as robust in 5 years time as they would like us to believe.

As I waited at McDonalds, in the "fast food lane" behind a dozen 4 wheeled, various conveyences, it dawned on me just how many autos/trucks must be doing the very same thing, multiplied by the thousands of MickeyDs throughout the land. Multiplied by all the rest of the chains. It took 10 minutes to finally reach the cashier.
Many times, simply parking and walking in and out, oh god!, is faster than the "drive through".
Anyone care to estimate the fuel savings by banning these nationwide?
With all due respects, Ronald.

I agree. Even worse is the drive through at the bank.
And besides if you drive through you can't flirt with the person behind the counter.

What happend to the old fashioned way of ordering burgers? From a chick with pointy *** chewing gum on roller skates.
Vendors should come to us if they want out business.
In fact I think we should ban all mindless timewasting queuing.
EDITED: Darn, I had the post open for too long before posting.
Dinopello, great posters. That was exactly what I was missing. _________________ It's not a bailout, it's a buy-in" - Nancy Pelosi

Why not allow the drive through
and ban the fast food instead?
That would be pretty funny.
Clown speaker face: "Welcome to Chez Clown", can I get you a drink order ?
"Sure, I'll have a Johnny Walker Blue, rocks and the wife with have a Manhatten. Pelligrino sparkling water for the kids."
Clown Speaker face: Excellent choice sir, please drive to window 2 while you think about an appetizer to go with that drink"
"Can we get a wine list?"
Clown Speaker Face: "Window 2 will take care of that"
Clown Speaker Face2: "Welcome to window 2, here are your drinks. Have you thought about an appetizer? The grilled Tuna Lollipops are very popular as are the Duck Confit in Butter Lettuce wraps."
"Can we just get the Calimari, and the kids would like to share the Grilled Brie. "
Clown Speaker Face2: " Very good sir, here also is your wine list - might I recommend the Starry Night Zinfendel, on special at $40 a bottle. And, drive to window 3 to pick up your appetizers.
"Sounds good!"
Clown Speaker Face3: "Hello Sir, here are your appetizers." Have you thought about a main course?
"I think we will need a little time, the wife can't decide.
Clown Speaker Face3: "Of course, take your time, but please circle the car in the waiting area while you decide and let the roving clown know if you have questions about the menu by flashing your high beams"

10 minutes of sucking down car fumes just to order a burger and fries?? Why do people subject themselves to this??
Back in the days when I used to actually eat fast food, I'd avoid drive-thrus like the plague, unless I was at a Checker's and there was one or fewer cars in front of me, and even then very rarely would I chance it. People lines all the way for me, man.
To me, waiting in a line of cars is like the curse of death...as there's no way to back out of a bad situation...LOL. At least in the people line you can take a hike if it's not moving...in a drive-thru lane, you're one stuck puppy...LOL.
Oh gosh, I *so* don't miss fast food...not in the least bit. _________________ Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide...
