I will believe the Saudis don't see any upcoming problems with Ghawar when they cancel one of their projects due to low oil prices. If they continue to be full steam ahead with increasing their capacity then I think they are aware that Ghawar may not be as robust in 5 years time as they would like us to believe.

As a result of the July 2 hearing, there is a 21 day extension (till July 23rd, 2008) on comments that can be submitted to the Advisory Agency of the Planning Commission. They will render a decision in 5-6 weeks.
Please consider what YOU can commit to doing to help this effort RIGHT NOW.

I don't know dude, fighting for space to plant carrots in a doomed city doesn't strike me a cause worth "throwing myself into the gears of the machine", as the linked article puts it.
The whole concept of "urban gardening", in my opinion, is just another distraction from the core problem.
The core problem is too many people.
Gardening in urban space does not, in my opinion, seem like a good use of space. _________________ Massive Human Dieoff must occur as a result of Peak Oil. Many more than half will die.
