That is a good article. Paul Roberts is rather more optimistic than I am (judging from other things he's written). In fact, I'd put him in the camp of the rabid Pollyannas. (He doesn't think we'll hit peak until 2030 or so.) However, unlike most Pollyannas, he realizes that even if we won't hit peak for another 25 or 30 years, we have to start doing something now if we want to avoid unpleasant "disruption."
