Don’t worry, just a little bump - $70 is just around the corner. Short traders just keep making those margin calls, mortgage the house if you have to. Fortunes await you! PO is for pansies and doomers. At $70 short some more ..... it is going back to $22 .... the world is awash with oil ........ reality has nothing to do with it, its all in those charts!!!!!!!!!!

Just say it once:"one quadrillion dollars". Bet you have never said that before. And yet it is a real number, it is not the savings account of Dagobert Duck.
Imagine that, 4.5 trillion a day. In just two days the equivalent of the whole US GDP is traded on this market. It is one thousand times the size of the entire oil market. It is just unbelievable.
The thought that something could go wrong in this market, makes the hair at the back of my neck stand up. Warren Buffet called this market a financial weapon of mass destruction. If I just look at these numbers I can only say he's right.

"There are 10^11 stars in the galaxy. That used to be a huge number. But it's only a hundred billion. It's less than the national deficit! We used to call them astronomical numbers. Now we should call them economical numbers."

My apologies if this is a stupid question, but who exactly is doing all this trading and where is the money coming from? Is this private traders, national governments or what?

I think the answer lies near the bottom of the article:
