I will believe the Saudis don't see any upcoming problems with Ghawar when they cancel one of their projects due to low oil prices. If they continue to be full steam ahead with increasing their capacity then I think they are aware that Ghawar may not be as robust in 5 years time as they would like us to believe.

Doesnt look like theres too many Peak Oil supporters on canoe.ca.

Oil prices are hitting record highs. The cause is,

Greedy OPEC countries 49%
Gas guzzling vehicles 14%
Few alternative energy options 25%
World supplies running out 12%

Total Votes for this Question: 2622

I'm not surprised, the issue is so complicated and most of us are energy illiterate! I'm sure half of the people think oil is produced and not extracted!

Actually that poll is bunk... it should have replaced the wording on option 4 with "world capacity is running out".

I believe the third and fourth option are related so closely that they are almost the same choice.

So...... maybe more people are hip to PO than we think!! Wink

Thru luck or knowledge, 50% were able to avoid the wrong answer(A).
So is the glass half empty or half full?

"D" is the most correct, but let's give partial credit where partial credit
is partially deserved. B and C. Very Happy

the question and answers were badly phrased.

we can run out of oil without oil prices going through the roof.
