I will believe the Saudis don't see any upcoming problems with Ghawar when they cancel one of their projects due to low oil prices. If they continue to be full steam ahead with increasing their capacity then I think they are aware that Ghawar may not be as robust in 5 years time as they would like us to believe.

I just got BF2 for the PC. Most of the battles center around the US fighting in the Middle East, but the surprising thing is that the other side is China half the time.

Just thought it was interesting.... Cool

With the supposedly accurate terrain maps of Chinese oil fields and Nuclear Reactor site in China- You gotta wonder what the CHinese think when they see this kinda crap in American media! The game's premise is in fact attacking China and disabling her energy infrastructure! Strange days indeed...

Games paralleling this situation is nothing new!

Command and Conquer: Generals
-3 Sides: China, GLA (Global Liberation Army - The Terrorists), USA
-Came out a bit ago.. 2/10/2003 (About 2 years ago)
-Since it's a strategy game, you're always fighting for resources while trying to deliver a coup de grace to the enemy.

Cool

Lol good idea, the peak oil clan! We have enough people here who know much about guns and survival, should be no problem to rule...

What armys do exist in the game? So it's Chinese and US? Where is Europe? Are they a separate faction or just became the protectorate of the US probably?

There is no Europe, but MEC (Middle east coalition) and Chinnese are using some european weapons Wink
I mean MEC have mostly Russian weapons, while certain Chinnese weaponary looks european (with differend brands) for example Chinnese fighter is euro fighter..

Game was developed by Swedish team. And it's really all about fighting over energy resources + some cities..
Americans are allways invading to "secure" stuff like oil fields, refineries, local media, uranium mine, or powerplants.. strange...

Chinnese apparantly love this game, judging from the ladder, where they are massively represented, often holding first positions (=they play it a lot) - not so many from mainland but masses from Honk Kong and Taiwan.
