Some pretty brutal and yet strait forward predictions. GM to go out of business, stocks are "dead" if oil continues to rally. Typically you would expect a bit more positive spin or the usual cautious watered down warnings on the economy but this article is pretty damn blunt I must say. Its right at home among the doomers here so read and enjoy.

snip from the article:

"One thing is for certain, if crude continues to rally, stocks are dead," said Dale Doelling, chief market technician at Trends In Commodities.

"If stocks have another day like this tomorrow, then the fallout next week could include government intervention in the markets," said Doelling. "

Oh great, let's see if the government can screw it up more. We're in for sad times, that's for sure.

Just wait until government intervention occurs. You'll get two immediate side-effects -

1) Chronic shortages

2) Black market profiteering

Don't be surprised if public service employees, including law enforcement officers, become part of the supply chain.

Oh, that's all part of the foreplay too.

The main event involves zombie hordes and machine guns firing tracers.

True. Very true. Add in the Fed's shenanigans with bank collateral and one has a great deal of intervention.

We've seen nothing yet...

The Fed shot his load during the foreplay, and now on 'the next leg down' he does not have any more bullets in his chamber.

Relax, it won't be much worse than the GREAT DEPRESSION

Unread postby Keith_McClary » Sat 02 Aug 2008, 02:26:44

Relax, it won't be much worse than the GREAT DEPRESSION and nobody died from that, people ate rabbit and gopher stew with turnips and potatoes and carrots and sat around the campfire singing happy songs (I can't think of any examples right now. Maybe if I go to the fridge I will find some inspiration)

Difference between now and then is most people (95 %?) of the U.S. population, don't know how to butcher a rabbit, let alone a gopher (personally I'd leave them for the cats).

"singing happy songs"? Without an IPod? You must be kidding?
