What WON'T you miss?

What are the aspects of modern life today that you won't miss post-peak?

(if there's been a thread on this already, my apologies, please merge, feel free to move to Open Discussion if you see fit)

I, for one, will not miss lawnmowers & leafblowers.

SUV's and large personal trucks. I am delighted beyond words that the market for those monstrosities has fallen apart. :)

I'll be happier when they're all gone. Yes, I won't miss them at all.

Another vote for leaf blowers.

To see a grown man with an engine strapped to his back blowing dust around a parking lot, whilst spewing out a cloud of exhaust and annoying the hell out of anyone in earshot is a pathetic sight, and testament to what a depraved lot we've become.

We have a lot of that in Los Angeles. We also have a lot of people who 'water' their pavement to get all the diesel soot off of it (since it never rains here). What a waste of resources.

People in denial of reality.

The people have little autonomy over their reality-negating mythology. It is not their fault, but that of their unhealthy culture.

Yeah, you're right, people don't create culture. We get it gift wrapped from the Anunaki, who bought it at the mall!

;)

Tiger Woods

Hopefully, by some miracle of justice, the Neocons will be executed, the USGS will be completely discredited, and Bush will be back in his formerly successful life as a drunk.

And, have to say it, SUVs and McMansions.

On the contrary MQ I expect people to be in denial until the bitter end. Even after half the population dies off from over-shoot I fully expect idiots to come onto this forum (assuming it's still around) blaming environmentalists, speculators, OPEC, or whoever will be a popular target for a witch hunt.
//
There was a former infamous poster on this forum, "LoneSnark", who's argument rested on this "theory" that there are copious amounts of oil / resources available but it's not being developed for whatever reason, politics, inefficiency, etc... He even argued that oil would drop down to $10 and we'd have enough for at least 100 years if only these resources can be exploited.

I fully expect people to make the same asinine arguments all the way until humanity collapses back to the dark ages.

Commercial television. We've been without it for 3 years now and it's worked out just fine and we don't miss it.

Professional Sports. Let’s go back to amateur and semi-pro, have fun on the cheap sports of the late 19th, early 20th century. Hooterville vs Clancy Township at 11 AM, Saturday in the town baseball field.

Notorious People No more Brittany Spheres, Paris Hilton, Michael Jackson, Ludikris (sp) and other artificial, narcissistic human-shaped objects.

Loud and flashy automobiles No more to say here.

Noise After 3 years in the country you realize what a noisy world most people live in. Now it's the rooster in the morning, birds all day and the occasional coyote or wolf at night. Very peaceful.

What a typical wanker Canuk response. You guys will never be rid of US. In fact in the future it is more likely that you will be part of US.

Got Anschluss?
