It's not going to tank. The income streams are locked in as are the expansion projects. My local utility (Eweb) just signed the PPA for the Raft River phase 2 power. I'm just kickin' myself that I didn't jump on the sub-1.70 price when I had the chance.

I’ve been saying for a long time that the future would be deep geothermal or thorium based nuclear. If it is deep geothermal, civilization will reappear around the Pacific Ring of Fire. In California, in a lot of places, 1000 ft well gives you 400 deg. F. rock.

From what I can figure, BTU wise, it is almost competitive with oil at the present, coming in at around 10 cents per KWH. Taking into consideration loses, they are almost equal. Since the technology has already been pretty well developed by the petroleum industry, this should be a slam dunk

Anyway, it is where I’m putting my money.
