Bloomberg: Bullion Sales Go "Gangbusters"

Unread postby mattduke » Thu 18 Sep 2008, 20:00:14

While TV camera crews staked out American International Group Inc.'s Wall Street headquarters following its takeover by the U.S. government, Jules Karp was quietly trading gold coins in ``unbelievable'' numbers from his basement dealership across the street.

Oh good, I'm glad I'm not the only one noticing this. Even here, among people who know exactly what's going on and have been commenting on it for years, the anger is palpable.

I just checked out the Kitco online store. The only silver product available is the 1000 oz bar. Retail silver has been in short supply for at least a year. A temporary disruption would not last this long. This is a manipulation, by the US Mint as the least. Silver Eagles have been the least available product in recent months.

i wouldn't be surprised to see gold go to $1500 - or get pushed/pulled down to $700. someone exhibited considerable determination to make the recent decline to the mid-700's.
