Credit Crash and Crude Imports

Unread postby VMarcHart » Sat 27 Sep 2008, 19:01:17

Will the credit market crash affect the oil companies' ability to import crude oil? Or are they sitting on so much liquidity that they buy it off their balance sheets and cashflow?

(Mods, is there a better thread for this topic? Thanks.)

The Seven Sisters and the nationals can easily fund their own operations from their balance sheet. Some of the smaller junior petes might have trouble if they are leveraged.

This leads me to ask: Are petroleum start-ups having any trouble raising capital by selling shares? Or has the insane panic on Wall Street and Bay Street affected them as well?
