All the red states are country music states. It all comes down to music preference.

What, like Nova Scotia? Or California?

The source music for country was fairly universal a century ago, when there were many more isolated rural areas. I have a book on Old Time Music Makers of New York State, for instance.

The breakdown so far looks more like the War Between the States, actually.

3 in the morning here, and I'm going to bed.

politico.com says:

Obama: 195
McCain: 70

If Obama wins Florida (63.59% votes counted; leads by 50.8 to 48.4), and there's nothing unexpected in California, they can call it a day.

Hopefully... :o

I listen to country music, but I'm not about to vote for either of those turkeys.

Got tickets for these guys next week: link

I, for one, hope this election marks the end of country music, or at least its most recent incarnation post 9/11.

Take me back to Garth Brooks or George Strait, at least.

KD Lang, Willie Nelson, Roy Orbison, Cash, are/were fantastic, but most of the rest make my head hurt.

Old Crow Medicine Show are just great. I love it when they grace Prairie Home Companion.

I'm a huge fan of real Country and Western, as well as Bluegrass. I detest Nashville pop-country, but the old true stuff of George Jones, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams I is the real deal.

Real Country music is white folks' equivalent of African-American Blues and Mexican Mariachi music. But you have to find the real stuff, not Nashville pop crap.
