Neglecting The Posse Comitatus of 1878

Unread postby Armageddon » Sat 22 Nov 2008, 00:54:14

Right Soup is hearing that a General Mobilization of ALL former military officers is underway. We caution that the talk we are hearing is conflicting, and that no concrete evidence has been uncovered yet. Still, reports from some who would be affected say that letters began going out on November 17th to all Non Commissioned Officers to recall them to service. Letters to Warrant Officers and Sergeants will go out this coming week. Reportedly some retired military have already gotten their letters. Right Soup is actively searching for scans of said letters, and for confirmation of this news.

A General Mobilization is VERY serious, about as serious as it gets. The Posse Comitatus of 1878 , which limits the use of the military for law enforcement is possibly being cast aside, if the rumored mobilization is for domestic enforcement. The Act can be set aside Executive Order of the President. Bottom line is, something big has to be imminent for this to be happening.

If all ex officers had gotten that letter then surely atleast one of them wouldnt have been able to resist the urge and show it to the press?

Until i see a copy of that letter i'll take this as seriously as i take all the other martial law posts.

I'll be waiting aswell.

The NSA has you on a list and knows you are a member of Peak Oil and thus pose a security risk. Thus you did not receive your letter :-)

This has been popping up all over the internet for the past two weeks. A war would make sense, given our global economic situation. What better way to grapple with millions of jobless claims to come in 2009 than to remove anyone under 35 from the workforce with a major war.

Still, I'll just file this information under "wars and rumors of wars".

Interesting development. I am going to start a new thread with this concept in mind.

No letter here yet. This has to be BS. I know several buds who are even more recent active duty or reserve than me and no one has gotten anything of the sort.

That's it? It basically amounts to a few more National Guard troops here and there. You let me down, man. :( I was expecting a big new war, or something exciting like that. :(

20,000 troops versus a super-heavily-armed population of 300,000,000. Hardly seems fair.

Don't worry, the Dept of Homeland Security has it all figured out. They will Chopper this force around the country from Riot to Riot as they break out. Shock and Awe as the Blackhawk Helicopters descend on Main Street. With their high tech weaponry and superb leadership from Michael Chertoff, this force is INVINCIBLE! Our country is safe now from civil disobedience.

super-heavily armed? Huh? An untrained, unruly, unorganized, under-supplied spread out mass armed with essentially hunting rifles, who will piss themselves at the first sight of a wounded, bleeding screaming human?

Don't think so.

The Drug Gangs in LA are HIGHLY organized, HEAVILY armed, and quite accustomed to pumping people full of lead and turning them into swiss cheese, much more so than your typical soldier. LOL.

20,000 Soldiers against the population of South Central LA? Fighting in neighborhoods these folks know like the back of their hand, house to house? That would be like sending 20,000 soldiers out into the streets of Baghdad. We aren't so stupid as to do that, we send out paid Iraquis to do that thankless and often deadly job.

Casualties on both sides would be enormous. Just one such battle, even if they eventually win it would cut down your origianl force by half, and it would take weeks to root out everyone. Now what do you do if at the SAME time you get a riot and house to house battle going on in LA, ANOTHER one pops up in Chicago, then ANOTHER in Atlanta....

Numbers swamp it. Beyond that, the folks in charge of this stuff have demonstrated their inability to understand such dynamics.
