South Australian Parliamentary Committee on Peak Oil reports

Several months ago the South Australian Parliament convened a Select Committee to look into the impacts of Peak Oil.

This has finally produced a report which was tabled in Parliament recently.

It may be of some interest to others who may be preparing similar reports for their local legislatures. It should be of some interest to South Australians.

As a South Australian, it is mildly reassuring to me that the issues have at least been canvassed. On the other hands, it is not much of a strategy document, with many prescriptive, vague and muddled recommendations on evidence. It may in fact discourage others with a more realistic grip on reality from further engagement with the topic. That would be a shame.
The author, Sandra Kanck, who has recently retired from politics, must nevertheless be commended for the initiative and we wish her well. It is now for others to add some much needed clarity.
Best regards,
Alex Fiedler
