Why the economy will fail...

There's an old saying, "Those who forget the past are doomed to re-live it." Yet it is becoming evident that we will continue to repeat the mistakes of the past again and again whether we remember them or not! Globalism is a perfect case in point.

Throughout recorded history, governments with imperialistic ambitions have always collapsed under the weight of their expenses. European history is replete with dreams of expansion and their eventual bloody demise. In the recent past, the USSR collapsed for just that reason. The motto of colonial England used to be, "The sun will never set on the British Empire" because of it's worldwide colonial ambitions. Fortunately they saw the handwriting on the wall in time to pull back to their own borders. It's all they can do now just to control those pesky Irish.

World War II can be attributed to the worldwide designs of a few men, particularly, but not limited to, the leaders of Germany, Italy and Japan. They decided to take the fast approach, but the end was just the same. And now here we sit with all that history behind us and what are we dreaming of once again? Empire! A One World Government. Globalism. Globalism is a very costly enterprise in terms of the lives and the money that must be sacrificed to make it happen. No matter that NO country in the world will ever willingly sacrifice it's own own sovernity or the primacy of it's own citizens to any outside entity unless it came by force. And force will always end the same. And yet here we sit today on top of the largest deficit in the history of the world, when the U.S. (and nearly every other nation thanks to our headlong rush for global interconnectivness) is essentially bankrupt, when we cannot even afford to offer healthcare to our own citizens, when tent cities are springing up all over the U.S., and we are dreaming of empire!

Would one huge monolithic government create a safer future? If you have something you need to accomplish, would it be safer to entrust that task to one person or ten? If the world were one body, any disruption in one part will affect the whole. One large disruption could be enough to bring down the entire world. For those who scoff at that notion, look to our current economic woes for proof.

The answer to our current problems of course would be to do just the opposite of empire. We must pull back to our own borders, slash government spending and the huge size of governement itself, become self-sufficient, self-reliant, and stop pandering to the whims of adverserial nations (like those in OPEC, for instance). Common sense dictates that when one becomes over-indebted to the point of bankruptcy, that's the time to reduce spending. And yet the government is planning to vastly increase it! Incredibly, we're blaming the Chinese for saving money, blaming them for the mess that our capitalistic desires created! If we had been saving money ourselves like the Chinese instead of blowing it on our lavish lifestyles, we never would have needed to borrow money from them in the first place!

Now our governement is telling us that we need to buy more stuff to jump start the economy! Savers are the real culprits. Don't plan for the future, live for today!

Will we ever learn? I mean, really?

My friend, you think too much about it. It's too late anyhow.

"Why the economy [s]will[/s] is failing..."
Fixed that for you.
Actually, the economy in the US is morphing into something that most people will not recognise or understand.

I think this is a good opportunity for you to tell us what you are/have done to not relive that past.

The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves -- in their separate, and individual capacities.
