Bankers bonuses were paid on the logic that they were adding vast value to their companies, it turned out that infact they were stealing vast value from their shareholders. Doh!
Now the shareholders should've spotted this, that they didn't and lost is how capitalism should work.
The bankers lose their jobs, the shareholders their shares and no one ever falls for that con again. It's not ideal, but it's how free markets and capitalism are supposed to function.
Sadly the banks were too big to fail. SO in an extraordinary system-breaking paradigm-warping move. WE, that's you and I the tax payers were forced to pick up the tab and bail them out, the bankers KEEP their bonus' KEEP their job and stiff US.
And there lies the rub, if they've forced our hand and broken the system. If, they like economic suicide bombers, can strap financial dynamite to their chest and ransom us our economy for trillions...
Then the rules of the system no longer apply.
And if the rules don't apply, then they are in for one HELL of a rude awakening.
As Pops says, we all rant alot on here, but if it doesn't transfer to action you're just pissing in the wind.
