there's a great evangelical christian tinfoil site (cuttingedge.org) that has been stressing for a long time that the big collapse isn't quite on the doorstep yet, and that we will have something of a rebound. the purpose of this crisis has been to transition us into a fascist economy, not to destroy the economy altogether.

the guy who runs current events analysis on the site correctly predicted the massive drop in oil price last year, and i thought he was full of crap at the time. he reasoned that the high prices were hurting developing nations too much, to the point that they might drop out of the world system.

the guy also claims to have contacts on the inside, former secret society satanists, who are still privy to much of the script now unfolding.

Ummmm....OK here's a hint: Obama is talking the economy up, because you know, people (including republicans) figure it's good for, you know, public confidence.

The rest of it is just what Drudge does, run in circles at the usual rate making incoherent animal noises. Unless he's just throwing feces, and it sounds like maybe it's feces day today.

File under: How quickly we forget...
When TPTB say "everything is fine," it is a signal to grab a life-preserver, the ship is about to sink!"
What I find curious is that some banks are refusing, or supposedly returning bailout money because they don't like the rules attached to them. If they are so upright and honest, what is it that they don't want made transparent?

Just remember this. When ever they say everything is fine it is time to head for the hills. We will be lucky if we don't see new lows in two weeks.

It's The Reponse To The Q1 Bank Filings

Unread postby PrestonSturges » Thu 12 Mar 2009, 23:34:21

Everyone is just heaving a sigh of relief that the banks reported that they were "only" $15 to 40 Billion in the hole each. If BOA and the rest had each said they were $150 B in the red, the market would be at 4500 by now.

But hey, you'd never guess it from Fox or CNBC, they are still lining the fucktards up to get cheated.

Me? I lost a whopping 4% last year.

Just remember that Zimbabwe had the best performing stock market in 2007.
Trying to find food and not get killed was a different story.

The DOW could run up to 20,000 while our cities burn to the ground.
But how the world turns. One day, cock of the walk. Next, a feather duster.

Indeed. DOW 20000 would be small comfort if a loaf of bread is $25 and you are unemployed...

Seriously, the only thing that I can see behind this rally is a couple of CEO's saying "we think we are going ot show a profit" and some gov accounting agency suggesting we should "lighten up" on auditing of the various failed banks accounting. Oh yeah thats a great idea, they need LESS oversight. What, can't pee when they're being watched?

Like kicking your feet to get more bubbles. Bubbles are nice and make us happy. We know eventually the water will be too messed up to make more but a bath without bubbles? 'We want bubbles Mommy!' 'No more, you will melt; when the bubbles are gone please hop out and get dry. OK kids!'

The new dire emergency is the trillions in deficit spending that Obama is adding to the national debt.

This is the beginning of another ride. The roller coaster has hit bottom again and we're all ratcheting up the hill again. Get ready for some inflation. Silver is over $13 and oil is getting ready to break $50 again, for the first time in a while. The best thing is to strap yourself into the seat, because it will go up and come crashing down again once the limits are reached again.

I didn't think Obama could cause the economic corpse to rise again, but maybe it's working.

I still think 2008 will be the peak year for oil production.

From here on out it's going to be interesting.

They will keep reviving the economy only to see it fail due to resource constraints.

Each time there will be less people playing the game, because a certain number were wrecked by the last boom and bust.

Eventually it will be like Zimbabwe, where the players are only a select few, and everybody else is panning gold just to buy bread.
Deep in the mud and slime of things, even there, something sings.

How many people here will remember "peak oil," and how many of them will blame Obama and the New World Order?

Lots of stuff that Republicans ignored under Bush is Obama's fault in their eyes.
