Freeplay gadgets get mentioned occasionally in other threads, but I would like to discuss this one in particular.

I highly recommend this little radio/flashlight/cellphone charger. In particular, the wind-up crank seems to be very efficient. I haven't personally tested the solar panel or the cellphone charger, but I'm impressed by the radio and LED flashlight. The whole radio is pocket-sized.

I find that it can be hard to find a place to put your hands while cranking that isn't on either the solar panel or the flashlight. Overall, though, I really like this radio.

I was gifted one of these lexan, reverse pole at end of stroke,
flashlights Pstarr and I agree, they are the berries.

One stormy dark night the power failed and I dug it out of
the nightstand and started to stroke it vigorously which
woke up the missus. She asked me what in the hell
I was doing and I said I was trying to see better.

She told me I had my logic backwards as usual and
asked me to whistle so nobody else would hear me.
Made me so mad I went downstairs the next day
and took the wobble out of the legs on the washing
machine.
