As a former Australian resident,

I have read that the current central govt is spending so hard to keep the economy alive that tax on income and sales of goods might not be enough to pay it back in years to come.

Another option is to take 100% control of all Natural Resource companies in Australia therefore allowing the central government to reap 100% of the profits from the sales of raw materials. The largest export in Australia.

This program of Nationalisation could also extend to almost all large companies to redirect the direct profits to the central govt to allow them to increase handouts for the massively increasing numbers of very long term unemployed.

The only big loss from this program would be the end of the Australian share market and superannuation system and any remaining money value currently in it.

The end result of this would be Australia becomes a direct Centrally Planned Economy where almost all business and raw materials are directly controlled by the state.

At least it would stop civil unrest and mass poverty from ripping Australia apart from the inside.
