Coming soon to your hometown.

Rich Harris, 28, who was recently laid off from his welding job, showed up at Williams' auction in Dallas earlier this month looking for meat for his freezer and snacks for his kids. With his wife pregnant with their third child, "I'm basically trying to expand my dollar right now," he said. "The deals, they seem to be fairly good."

The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

Of course its Obama's fault. We wouldn't be in this mess is Nixon was still in charge! He had cajones.

Planty had to get some ice for his carpal tunnel syndrome. He'll be sure to post his drivel shortly.

Sounds like a good deal and hopefully will save a lot of food from being thrown out.

Our local grocery store (Kroger) often has marked down food that is a day or two away from expire date. We love to snap that stuff up. Today, I got a loaf of bread (bakery Italian) for 99 cents.

I'm an auction junkie. I would have much less on Spring Creek Farm if I didn't do the auction thing.

My next career will probably be auctioneering.

Where are the tent cities? I don't do much driving lately.

I've been doing the auction thing for years and if I might make a few suggestions.

(1) Set a limit on what you are prepared to pay and stick to it.

(2) Don't fall in love with an item.

(3) Don't get into a bidding war. Be prepared to let the other guy win.

(4) While you may get a deal on an item in a lot, you still have to get of the rest of the items in the lot.
Approach the winner of a lot and ask him if he or she is prepared to sell specific items in the lot.

Sad.

Some of the, uh, let's just say lower-end stores over here do sell these kind of foodstuffs as well.
No need for auctions. Always a lot of people in these stores. I dropped by a couple of times.
Maybe when things get more desperate ...

 You gotta admit, he's a good looking guy with style and class. I don't agree with his politics, but he's a whole lot better than the last guy we had. :|

What do we realistically expect? The pay's zilch... & people are gonna end up hating your guts, & blaming you for everything under the sun.

Out of the pool of potential contenders... we could do much, much worse.

And have...
