Economics on a Mini-Micro Level

Unread postby WyoDutch » Mon 23 Nov 2009, 07:03:35

Our little community numbers less than 200 souls.

Last night was our annual fundraiser for the Community Cupboard... a volunteer organization that provides food and other assistance to those in need. The community has been hard hit by the recession and unemployment is high. Also, a high proportion of the residents are on fixed incomes.

$1,900 was donated during the service. Up about 15% from previous year.

The government may be collapsing, but at least here... the people are still hanging together.

And that is what will m ake the difference.

Community resilience. Half your luck! Treasure this place and the people in it.
For every question , there is a lie. For every lie, there is a truth. For every truth, there is a way. And for every way, there is a time. This is the time.

I've found that those with the least oftentimes share the most
