Poll: How many banks will fail next year

Just curious of how many banks you think will fail next year.

Support your answer with reasoning. Share your insight. I personally believe about 100 banks, then maybe the year after that 200 +
I think the economy will bounce around next year, and will shave the next 100 weakest bank and then we will enter the real decline in 2011.

I put the 121-150 for my choice. I am thinking there ought to be a lot more than that but the FDIC just doesn't have the funds for it.

If we have a poor Christmas this year, look for commercial real estate to tank. If that happens, at least 150 - 200 banks will go under.

Update: Just ran across this video, which I thought important to this discussion.

Is difficult to say, so far this year there were 124 bank failures in the US and the year is not yet over. I choose the option: 150 - 200, I consider this to be the best case scenario, that is, if the govs are able to hold the crash for another year covering the holes with fresh printed money. If a crash comes, the number may be irrelevant.

I said all of them, but that isn't totally all. There are some smaller banks that are run like real banks, not burglars, and they'll survive.

I read a news report around here somewhere saying that well over 2,500 banks were in danger of failing. It was in some thread about the FDIC.
