With China and Korea buying into Alberta and eventually Sasketchewan Oil Sands a lot of production could be going to the BC coast for shipment to Asia. With the proposed Gateway Pipeline to Kitimat and expansion of the existing pipeline to the Port of Vancouver a continental shift in movement of Alberta's crude oil is underway. CN Rail also has a plan to ship crude via rail which they claim can take up to 4M barrels a day cheaper than pipelines in the works. Rail lines already exist to Port of Vancouver and the west coast deep water port at Prince Rupert and Kitimat. Two of the best deep water ports in North America and both about 2 full days closer to Asia than any other ports in North America.
