I've become interested in how much money we have spent on foreign oil since 1971.

Because of that, I did some research and came up with 1.67 trillion for 1971 to 2001 in real dollars normed for 2000.

Would some of you mind checking and see what you come up with? I just don't have any confidence in this number for some reason.

Please start with 1971 and try to end either in 2001 or 2008.
