In summary, it lists the major news corps & who owns them, and examples of how news coverage has been manipulated to serve the owner's interests (as opposed to strictly liberal vs conservative concerns)

What do Dan Rather, Barbara Walters, Jim Lehrer, Rupert Murdoch, Tom Brokaw and the late William F. Buckley have in common? They are all members of the CFR, The Council On Foreign Relations. The stated goal of the CFR is to manipulate the News to bring about a new world order or corporate control of everything. This is not some weird conspiracy theory, it is stated in their original charter. Who else belongs to the CFR, Disney's Michael Eisner and ABC's Thomas Murphy, Tom Johnson, CEO of CNN, Time Warner's Gerald Levine, and many, many more media CEO's who have merged their empires under the CFR's guidance.

These people and their ilk should probably be put to death in keeping with the spirit of the constitution for attempting to destroy the United States. Not surprisingly you could probably be locked up for life as a domestic terrorist without trial for even suggesting something so outrageous.

It's amazing how a once proud people can go down frightened, with barely a whimper...

Often when enthusiasts of an agenda (of whatever stripe) paraphrase the positions of their opponents, their objectivity is sorely lacking. So when someone claims that various and sundry media personalities are part of this nefarious and evil organization, it deserves at least a cursory glance to see if they are being represented in a reasonable fashion, or if the original claim is just as ridiculous as it looks.

The key here appears to be what is contained in their "original charter"....is there any reference to this document available to verify the claims made against them?

is the following mission statement:

"The Council on Foreign Relations is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank, and publisher dedicated to being a resource for its members, government officials, business executives, journalists, educators and students, civic and religious leaders, and other interested citizens in order to help them better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other countries."

And this little blurb deserves some attention as well:

"Founded in 1921, the Council takes no institutional positions on matters of policy."

Certainly these quotes don't seem to contain the concept of Dr Evil organization hell bent on world domination by media manipulation.

Are there any specific complaints about this organization justifying the the originating quote, or does this just get lumped in with the usual "its all the Jews fault" type stuff?

I remember one of the Flint movies (the precursor to Austin Powers) involved a conspiracy on behalf of Ma Bell. I wish I had a youtube clip of it because the rationalization given sounds just like today's tinfoil. Back then that stuff was considered absurd whereas today such ideas are often taken seriously.
