You've got to give a hand to the Falls Church News Press - they have hired Helen Thomas, and given her a column to continue honest journalism.

Which, as many PeakOiler's have noted, is quite scarce in America today.

She is completely right. I recall she said "Go home" too. She's a very old lady - born in the 20s.

It's the quickest way to achieve peace in the Middle East, and given rapid climate change and peak energy, things could get tricky over there really fast.

Of course, in the current mindset of "everything is perfect in the world", it would seem wrong to say that.

I think her comments are analogous to the comments peak oilers and climate scientists make. A solution to an intractable problem.

No one is really going to respond until its too late.

I'm sure many people from that region already emigrate for similar reasons.

Every Jew can emigrate to Germany and suck its teat for as long as he/she wants. Not every German can, but Jew, yes. There is a well-financed program dedicated for that since late 70s at the very least.
There are hundreds of thousands of Jews in Germany for this specific reason.
And I can assure you that every Israeli knows about it. I guess Germans want to be sure they got them all next time.

as a "good point", is just as vile as the statement itself. What is going on with this site? There seems to be a strange puritan obsession with ensuring no one swears or makes derogatory comments about other individuals, but apparently statements praising the attempted genocide of an entire group of people require no comment at all. Yecch. Creepy, creepy stuff.

And then there's Israel, settlement of my people since 1945 (traditionally, for millennia), but a very troubled polity in which a cult of religious fanatics every bit as extreme as their counterparts in surrounding nations are taking over by sheer population explosion. This suggests something less than a happy ending. The inversions of history can be very cruel.
