Who's watching the game today?

Unread postby Xenophobe » Sun 06 Feb 2011, 19:13:00

Even in the horrifying grasp of peak oil 6 years in, we still get the Super Bowl! People fly there using dwindling crude based fuels, drive to Arlington using other crude based fuels, the lights in the stadium are on, people are drinking beer and eating dogs, THE GAME IS ON!

I am a Steeler fan since birth. Who out there is watching this afternoon? Take a break from doomer depression, grab some beer, watch some football! Imagine those guys on your favorite team are putting the hurt on the more fortunate, the yuppies, the SUV drivers, everyone you thought peak oil was supposed to wipe out but didn't! Pick a side and join the fun!

Don't follow sports at all - a fact that seems to puzzle many since I'm straight.

Looks like you'd better get back to PO Xen. 14/0 1st quarter/ Packers favour; looks like a whitewash.

21-10 at the half Sea!

This western Pennsylvania, coal miners son sure doesn't give up until the 4th quarter is complete!

Go Steelers!

I watched the O'Reilly / Obama interview. O'Reilly seemed nervous.. reminded me of my brother-in-law, so much wound up barely contained conservative rage.

I think Obama won that match. As for the game.. I'm not into sports.

This thread is about the game!!

21-17

Go Steelers!

Who cares about inconsequential Obama and O'Reilly, these talking heads are insignificant. In the real world, football is far more important than which wing of the ruling elite happens to be playing talking bobblehead on TV.

31-25 final. Steelers lose.

I am crushed. My raging depression might drop me right back into Doomer land if it weren't for the facts so heavily leaning the other way.

<sigh>

Better luck next year I suppose.

True, but neither is this a sports forum. Ok fine, back to your bread and circuses.

Hey, if we can spend half our time posting about the dopers, politics, nonsense earthquakes opening up new dimensions because some webbots said so and our posters are overly gullible, we can pay attention to the greatest american sporting event ever invented!

At least for a day anyway....

I guess the stealers did not buy the refs this time. Unlike when they played the Hawks.

I think if I was going to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, I would at least learn the lyrics.
