THE DEFINITION OF COLLECTIVE BARGAINING"

Threads should be started judiciously, and include correct and informative titles. Creation of a large number of poorly executed threads is regarded as disruptive of the community.

This is how that term is defined between the "Public Workers" and their "Unions".
COLLECTIVE:

Unions collect union dues.
Politicians collect donations from unions and votes from public workers.
Politicians collect taxes (used to pay off for the votes).
BARGAINING:

That is when the politicians pass out the taxes collected in the form of wages and OUTRAGEOUS benefits to those public workers that voted them in office, and the tax payer gets SCREWED.

Here is only one example of the mis-use of the benefits and wage package and how the taxpayer is getting screwed (that up until now workers didn't pay a single penny into). Their pensions are based on their last one or two years TOTAL wages. It is also an unwritten law that "OVERTIME" in the last two years goes unchallenged and unsupervised. In a recent investigation Allegheny County Jail Guards in Pittsburgh Pa. worked enough overtime to "INCREASE" their pension "BY" $4000 /month. That's correct -I said "INCREASE"their pension "BY" $4000/month on top of their base pension, plus their medical benefits. This PRACTICE goes on all over the country.

Do yourself a favor and check your own city, borough, township and state. Police (city, county, state, municipal, sheriffs) as well as firefighters work this benefit very well. There are some contracts that read when you work a scheduled day off it is at time and a half, even if you call off a regular scheduled day. That means 32 hours at straight pay and 8 hours at time and a half (for a 40 hour work week--they gain 4 paid hours pay for nothing). Another point to remember is when the ECONOMY takes a downturn (as in 2008) everyone retired in the private sector lost about 50% of their 401K (thus their lifestyle was forced to change), but the public sector retiree didn't lose a dime because the tax payer is FORCED to pay the pensions with TAX DOLLARS, which are unfunded thus eventually taxes will have to be raised or services cut. And you wonder why governments want to modify "COLLECTIVE BARGAINING".

Wisconsin Governor Walker remember 3 things:

You made a "STAND". Stay with it or you will be thought of as "WEAK".
All "WISCONSIN BUSINESS" should be done in the Capitol Building not at Denny's.
Remember in the movie "Hoffa", the movie ended when Hoffa was waiting in the parking lot of a restaurant and he disappeared at the hands of "HIS TEAMSTER BROTHERS".

Does this, yet another rant, have anything at all to do with Peak Oil?
"Open the gates of hell!" ~Morgan Freeman's character in the movie, Olympus Has Fallen.
