I would re title this How Do You Short Circuit THE DESIRE for Control.

The irony is that the desire is there with the apprehension of loss. Once the "loss event" occurs then there is no more desire. One is thrown in the moment.

This is a bit related to the saying that there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

Once all the fat is trimmed do you think we are going to be hanging around analyzing all the psychological and physical ramifications of peak oil? No. We will be thrown into the moment of getting by day by day. As it should be. As it always was actually.
