Yesterday I was at an exhibiton by the Royal Society showcasing some of the groundbreaking British science. One of the teams was the University of Manchester and their Nobel winning graphene team.

I was pretty stunned to see the progress in this area, we have all heard abotu carbon alletropes and there supposed future but well its all in the future. But it seems that the 2D alletrope has been making huge progress and they are talking about comercialisation inside 5 years for specific applications and perhaps only 10-15 years away for things like capacitors and lining for storage tanks.
Pretty interesting stuff.
