Honestly I read for about a year all over the net (easy job at that time) before joining this site and it is still the only peak oil site I bother with at all any more since about then (2 years ish).

I found TOD to be way to full of Matt Sav and ego tripping nonsense. TOA looks very similar at first glance. Such an extremely complex topic requires a wide variance of posters and perspectives, not narrowcasting doomerism. I came here with an open mind and have kept it that way, with regards to likely/ less so/ outcomes over the scope of time periods.

It is really obvious now that the more doomer porn oriented posters don't stick around much past the next D Day after they sign up. I am very glad I took note of the more mature posters right here on PO.com, the slow crashers, who have thus far tended to be far more accurate forcasters.

And the cornies who have done even better. Increasing US and global oil production, as Oilfinder2 has pointed out, no double dip recession (all prayer to the contrary), car sales back up, alternative powered transport reaching mass distribution countrywide, the big tsunami didn't cause the death of the DJIA as some predicted, I mean really we need to start wearing sunglasses to keep from being blinded by the light of abundance and prosperity!
