Best of 2011 - Favorite Poster

Unread postby Pops » Sun 18 Dec 2011, 19:31:37

So I'll open the nominations for favorite poster of 2011 by nominating Agent R11
- not because I agree with anything he says but because he's always says it in a civil manner*.
Salute!
*(except when I told him he sounded like David Brooks... LOL)

I'm going to be away for Christmas so if anyone wants to start a Best <whatever> of 2011 thread, feel free to do so, we'll tally 'em up after the first, 'eh?

Have to agree with AgentR11, but then I agree with most of his posts. Knowledgable, civil.

I always liked Mos but he comes & goes.

I'll nominate Gramae (sp?) because he posts so much & gets a lot of crap from doomers even though he's not all deadset on any particular position.

Sorry, guys my vote is for Cid_Yama. No one has climate change news, and such a unique perspective as Cid!

There's a number of posters that have contributed good info and musings, but this year it seems to me that Pops has been posting more than his usual steady amount and that his posts, particularly when he starts a new thread, have been written with exceptional clarity, balance and insight. Pops gets my vote for 2011's poster of the year. (And thanks, Pops, for all the work you put into this forum!)

My vote is for Daniel Plainview.

His posts are the most well-documented and informative on this site. Every post contains links and useful information. AND, while Daniel's expertise focusses on the economy, he also understands the role that peak oil is playing in contributing to the economic crisis in Europe and the ongoing problems in the US economy.

I vote for Pops. Specifically for creating a nice "10 basic facts of peak oil", and also for good posts in general.

Also, Outcast_Searcher, for cutting through all the sensationalism and bringing a more balanced view to the forum.

AgentR11, but if there was a fantasy category I'd be torn between OF2 and CID.

I'll vote for Pops also with his ongoing posting efforts to keep the board vaguely on topic and to keep new threads (that in many cases spark discussion) coming along frequently.

My vote goes to pup55, with his boots-on-the-ground style for keeping us up to date and adding data points to the petroleum system that we can all follow. Runners up for me include PeakOiler, pstarr, Pops, AgentR11 and Roy in no special order.

To me these represent posters I'll go out of my way to read when I see their name pop up on the active post list.
