I nominate the user wildmanj for his post where he explained how aluminium foil was manufactured before WWII in the Population Standard Deviation thread. As you know, aluminium foil has many applications but is sadly also an item we take for granted today. Did you know that aluminium foil is manufactured with a thickness between 0,2 mm and 6 µm? Otherwise it wouldn't be aluminium foil but sheet metal (if it's thicker than that). Sheet metal can actually be foil or leaf if it's really thin (see above) unless it's thick then it's plate.
Anyway, I kinda miss wildmanj. He was like a mentor to me.
