Yeah like bummer, now there's gonna be a rush of doomsteaders heading for Antarctica!
Seriously I know one guy who sailed there 3 times, reckons it's fully possible given the right gear. It's the only landmass on the planet with no sovereign State, meaning no immigration or pot laws or police beyond the existing bases security. You could litterally sail in there with a bail of hay, collapsible greenhouse, heat pump, stack of seeds and non perishables and have a serious go at it. I imagine it would be horrific/ fantastic place to live/ die.
